Description

A very rare and unusual museum piece - a wooden log with holes at both ends, originally part of an open drain system. 16th Century or earlier.
It came from Ludlow, and was rescued when they were digging up a very old cobbled street in the town centre. Finding such pieces is extremely rare.
Makes a wonderful planter for bulbs, primroses or alpines.
The wood has gone hard, like petrified wood.
